Motive in Debating_Model United Nation 2016

The time has come again, a few days ago, on the weekend, I was participating the International School of Phnom Penh Model United Nation. Last year was my first time participate and representing the country of Greece and this years, I came back to the events again as the delegation of Republic of the Union of Myanmar. This year, I was in the committee of the Junior General Assembly 2 showcasing three topics that are associated with providing better education, protecting animal rights and limiting the use of large dams. This year, I felt really proud of myself and especially to the work that I have put into preparing with all the researches and writing in order to be ready for it. Compare to last year, I felt like I become more active in the assembly, I raised a lot of POI and ask a lot of questions too.  From each year to another, I felt more confident and enjoy doing it. I am looking forward to join this event again next year. See you soon ISPPMUN 2017!

Traveling Different Places Teaches Me How To Appreciate My Province

This is a project in my literacy class. We are writing our own memoir story that related to our life and that change our life. For me, I learn to appreciate different places and especially, when I went to different places in Cambodia, I can find the differences between each places.

Being A Change Agent_ 2014-2015

Everyday people are making change. The essential vision of Liger Learning Center is changing Cambodia, that’s why Liger Learning Center creates many classes such as Exploration, Advance Enrichment, etc. Change Cambodia is not only the obligation for Liger Learning Center, but for all Cambodian kids and people to change. I create changes in many ways by teaching, helping, sharing, developing, trying new things, other. In the third years of Liger I’ve learn, improve and change many things. That is really encourage me to always creates change. I’ve got five Exploration classes in the third years:

Ecotourism
In Ecotourism we had learn about how important tourism are to our economy. So we went to one of the ecotourism site in Cambodia. Our intension of the trip are to find out about any problems relate to education, health, career, electricity, etc in Chi Phat community. Then the outcome is to recommend some idea of how to improve and solve the concerned. One of the change I’ve made during the trip was teaching some knowledge that I have to the students in Chi Phat community.

Water sanitation
In Water sanitation we had learn about how important sanitation are. We also explore many things about Wetland, Composting Toilet. The outcome of our exploration is to reconstruct the constructed Wetland at our school and to design low cost Composting Toilet . How do we learn? We learned about constructed Wetland and Self- Composting Toilet by interviewed experts from different NGOs and visit the Ministry of Environment, invite guest speakers from different background to share with us about wastewater. We also use technology to research informations in the class too. We tried to go on field trips to visit places that working on these system. One Change I’ve made in the Exploration was designing and reconstruct a new Liger Wetland. It seem the wetland is working well.

Entrepreneurship
In Entrepreneurship group we had learn about many entrepreneur vocabulary and learn about how to becomes a great entrepreneur. Also design and invented our own product and advertise so we can get profits. So we used many apps to design the product. Some people using 123d design and some using blender. One of the change I’ve made through the Exploration was sharing how to use 123d Design and Blender to Logo International School. It seem the students in Logo International School happy and learn a lot from us.

Cambodia Economy
This is the Exploration where we start with going out to many different places to gather the information about different sectors in Cambodia economy. Internet is also one of our important sources. After collect all the data then we transform the information to writing so when can put it in the book. I am the author of agriculture sector such as rice and rubber. One change I and my members made is that we had published our first Cambodia Economy which will have in each and every secondary school in Cambodia. So means we help other students all over Cambodia to improve their learning.

3d-Tech_ We Will Tech You Up!

In Liger we’ve been learning about Entrepreneurship. The goal of the Entrepreneurship Exploration is to let students making their own business, design and how to become a good business. So every students has their own business. We also learning how to create a product from 3D printing to sell. I got my partner Kimseng to work with me. His a marketer and I am the designer. My product called 3d-Tech and it helps to cool down the computer. We sell about 65 products and of all the students we got the most profits. But when we sell to some customer the product not giving so much benefits to them. But we’ll try to solve out the solutions.

“To Keep You Is No Benefit, To Destroy You Is No Loss”_Pol Pot

In 17, April 1975, Khmer Rouge took control over Cambodia. In only three years, one fourth of the whole Cambodian population died by starvation, sickness, executed and tortured. Cambodian were forced to work almost twelve hours a day with very little of food. Cambodia, the country with the increasing economy has fall down at the lowest point of it history. Almost all intellectual and those who are talented and skilled were killed. 

This poem is talking about the dark regime of Khmer Rouge and the briefly about the lives of Cambodian during that  time.

Khmer Poem (Getting Homesick)

This is apart of what we are doing now in Khmer class. We are learning how to write Khmer Poem and implement those concepts. Here is one of it. It is about how I get homesick when I came to learn here in Liger. It includes the memories that I had done with my family at home. If you can read Khmer, I believe it can be an emotional poem.

ពេលបានមករៀននៅLiger ក្នុងចិត្តរង្គើរចង់ជួបប៉ា
ហើយថែមទាំងជួបម៉ាក់ផងណា នៅស្រែនោះណាឆ្ងាយអើយឆ្ងាយ។

Eco_Tourism In Cambodia

 

Ecotourism means to travel to natural areas that protect environment and help people life at location became better. Ecotourism was also about helping to preserve the environment. Our ecotourism group went to Chi Phat to study about the ecotourism in Chi Phat. Also we learned about how ecotourism in Chi Phat are different from other ecotourism sites. Our big goal when we went to Chi Phat was to interview as many people as possible. We interviewed different people to get different answers and all the people had different perspectives. After we interviewed a lot of people we came back and studied about the information we found some areas of concern. Our group made a recommendation to Chi Phat community about the areas of concern. Some areas of concern are education, transportation, marketing, collaboration, and energy. After we finished we will send it to Martin and Prom Hong, the CBET (Community Based Ecotourism Site) directors.

 

 

Khmer History

In Khmer History Round 3 class we learned about Khmer Rouge. First teacher Darath talked about his family life during Khmer Rouge. Then we started to do the research project about Khmer Rouge individually. After researching we presented it to our classmates. We learned about the timeline, Khmer Rouge actions and listened to the audio about:

. who were Khmer Rouge

. how they took control and got the power from Sihanouk

. daily life during Khmer Rouge

. foreign relationships

In our class we listened a lot to presentations, video and audio. It sounded scary when we listened to the audio because Khmer Rouge hurt, kill, deported the family and kidnapped the kids to kill their parents if they did something wrong. It was scary, but it is important to learn about this because we can remember our own country history and it could be our knowledge.

War and Peace

This class is war class. We learned about different kindsof war and talked about history of wars. Example: Cold war, WW1 and WW2. WW stands for World War. In class we did the research project in pair about war history then presented it to our classmates. For example: What kind of war was the biggest war in the world? Later on after the students presented  their presentation, the teacher presented to us about World War 1 and World War 2. He explained about the reasons why it happened, how can it become a world war, who had involved and its timeline. We even talked about world leaders and how they led their country when there was a conflict or war.

Psychology

In our Advanced Enrichment we learned about psychology. Psychology means how someone felt and how they changed their behavior and attitude. We learned about body language. Body language means how someone acted could tell other people by not speaking anything. We looked at the students and thought that students were introvert or extrovert people. Introvert means animals that don’t want to be loud they are just serene. Extrovert means animals that like to do fun things and be loud animals. Other things we learned were about optimism and pessimism. Optimism means thinking a good thing. Pessimism means thinking bad things like some people give up. We learned about positive and negative behavior. Example: when the mom played with the baby she was positive and the baby was happy, but when the mom was negative (it means the mom made the straight face) and then the baby was crying and trying to make the mom play with them. We learned about children’s behavior. When we gave chocolate to children and then we said if you eat chocolate it okay, but if children wait the teacher will give more chocolate. Some of the students ate the chocolate because they thought that the teacher was cheating them. Some of them waited because they wanted more chocolate to eat. We watched three videos. First video we watched was about two monkeys working together to open the box to get the foods to eat.​ Second video we watched was about human have two monkeys and they gave one monkey a grape and other monkey a cookie and how they behaved. Third video we watched was about two people played cards to cheat the monkey and how it behaved.
